Miss shifted bad!!! Car wont idle the same!
I was driving and i was in third gear and i brought it all the way up to around 8100rpms. Then my dumbass shifted to 2nd instead of goin to 4th gear ON ACCIDENT and it went all they up to 9500rpms. Now when i idle, the motor seems to idle more rough then before and i can tell because my steering wheel has a slight vibration and this was not a problem before. I looked at the motor while its idling and theres a slight movement also and it used to be smooth. Anyone have ever done this or know what can be wrong with my motor? p.s. Im not positivley sure but i think i heard something come out of the engine bay when this happen (like a bolt or somthing)
Your engine is toast, and why your trying to drive it/turn it on is beyond me. You need to pull the head, and see which valves and pistons you ruined and go from there. Don't create more damage that what has already happened.
Not to flame you personally but there seems to be a ton of 'money shifts' lately. I simply cannot understand how someone can do this.
This is unfortunate for you, because this is going to cost you a large sum of cash. However, you can use this 'opportunity' to build the bottom end to be bullet proof.
Good luck, and DO NOT turn the motor over.

i think they shifted too hard. too much power that your hand was pulling to your side. anyways open your head see whats up..if you are lucky there will be any big damage, such as hole on block, crack cyl, melt cly, crack cam shaft..

my first thoughts exactly

Put your money on a used head, build it, and slap it on. Search this site and you'll find tons of info on "how-to" DIY.
You can try re-adjusting your valves first before you dive into replacing the head though. Good luck dood. Learn how to shift y0!

ive done this before but it was worse... i was trying to go to third and somehow it went into first!!!! it just hit the rev limiter... i bet you just busted a motor mount. check all your motor mounts for cracks and make sure all the bolts are in them..
bent valves...i would try a leak down test first to be sure before you commit yourself into pulling it apart...
if it is bent valves you can save a lot of money doing the work yourself..pullin the head, buying the valves and letting a machine shot replace them costs a lot less than you'de think...we did the same with one of our gsr's

take head apart and look for yourself if you really want to know...

I understand your probably freaking out. However, this is a VERY basic thing and there is not much to it. You either:
1) screwed up something or
2) did not screw up something. We know it's #1.
#1 will then lead you to another set of numbers.
1) bent/broken valve(s)
2)broken/melted piston(s)
3) Spun bearing(s)
4) 2 out of 3
5) 3 out of 3
All of these unfortunately are going to involve the removal of the head for determination on what you have done. It is really that basic. Your next step is remove the head, take pics of the damage and we can tell you where to go from there. Let's keep our fingers crossed that tje damage isn't to extensive.

Thats why anytime im upshifting from 3 to 4, or downshifting from 5-4 i always put my palm ON TOP of the shift **** and pull straight down, so that way i dont go into 2nd. Good luck man, dont worry too much just fix it and move on.
thats shitty. he might have hope; my friend has a prelude SI which received an h22 as soon as he bought it. he used the h23 transmission
, so that was toast after less than a year. he misshifted like 3-4 times when the tranny was on its way out, and his engine is fine with over 75k on it.

mis-shifts happen to professional racers as well. accidents happen.

Do a leakdown test first if you have access to the equipment. You really don't have that big of a problem if you just bent your valves. If you have time and patience you can pull the head off with ease. Buy the valves and replace them yourself. Just make sure they're sealing right cut the seats if you have too but if you don't have a tool send it to a machine shop. With the money you save on labor you might as well spend on springs/cams/etc.
bent valves and prolly more, i am suprised you still have a motor... just pull the head off like everyone said to and you'll find some bent valves and perhaps a cracked piston or two.
Just like what everyone else said, bent valves. What i would do is do a valve adjustment, and then do a compression test.
??? Valve adjustment, what is this going to help??And what computer program are you running that doesnt have a rev limiter on it??Accidents happen!!!!Im sure everyone has misshifted there fair share of times.
