Default 94 ex coupe....needs an extra kick

I have a 94 civic ex coupe, with full exhuast (highflow cat, headers), and an intake.....was wondering if the intake manifold is worth getting? Says 10-15 hp gain (which i know thats not true), but has anybody run a similar setup an seen any difference? Let me know what you all think....

If you've got money to burn, but I wouldn't get it unless you're forced induction. Think about getting a cam, look at the ZEX 59300.

FI is the only way to go. 3-5 HP gains are not worth the money. SC or turbo will make you happier.

turbo, or zex cam and a shot of gas. IM won't help much at all.

lol...any Civic is gonna be slow with out force induction or a full swap. Dont want to spend much money, well as everyone said take out ur AC and steering belts. Dyno has proven that is gives you HP to the WHEELS! And to the WHEELS is what you want not just HP thats all BS! Take it that a Civic EX produces like "127 hp" but technically its more like 117 Hp. Just my 2 cents

Actually it's closer to 106 or 105...

An IM won't give you a gain of 10-15 HP... Probably more like 5-10 (If that!)

Seriously, if money isn't a big deal, Swap your motor... Then go FI. I wouldn't waste money on turboing the D...

Less than 117 whp. the generally accepted figures are 15% drivetrane loss for FWD cars, 20% loss on rwd cars, and 25% loss on awd cars. So:
127 - (127 * .15) = ~108 whp.

Also, the HP gains from the IM are limited by your stock cams, and TB. If you get a TB, cams, and a good header, then you might see that 15 hp gain from the IM. With stock cams, I would guess more around 2 hp or so.

try some weight reduction if your up to it itll help till you get your swap. the ex coupe is the heaviest tank of all the 92-95 civics

Man I have the EXACT same car... And it feels so under powered, haha

I'm going with the GReddy TD04H-15G Turbocharger system... $1,395 + $60 shipping... you can't beat that.

Typically before you install a Forced Induction system on any motor, it's always smart to replace your gaskets, and check your compression to make sure it's even worth it.

Another good thing about the GReddy kit... GReddy designed it with stock components in mind, so you can boost up to 7psi with stock clutch, axels, internals, etc.

So all in all... I would say it's the best 'bang for the buck'

**** a swap. You just want some extra kick, go FI (Not an unintercooled Greddy kit either). A simple DIY kit will yield more HP and WAY more torque than a lowly B16, and cost less. I've owned SOHC-T and I've owned B18C with all-motor and FI, and if I did it again, I'd definitely go SOHC-T. Good luck on whatever you do.

IDriveAHonda... You forgot, it doesn't come with a Blow-Off Valve either

But, there is always room to upgrade... Which is exactly why I'm ordering a Type S Blow-Off Valve and the proper components to run a Front Mount Intercooler as well.

More efficient power.

I've had the Greddy kit, it's a nice little kit, but the only reason I don't like it is because ppl buy them brand new and try to run an FMU with stock exhaust and never see the potential in them. A Greddy kit w/ FMIC, Hondata/Uberdata/Crome, and a nice exhaust will make a nice setup if you get the stuff at a good price.

My buddy is a master mind with Uberdata... He's giving me a pretty good tune for a decent price. And I'm planning on GReddy Turbo exhaust to compliment the GReddy Turbo kit... Nice and pricey, but may as well
