yeah i believe so .. thats what he was asking me, if it was ok to stay with the stock rods and so on. I dont know why he doesnt ask the guys who are tuning the car but i guess he trusts you guys more.

reving that high on a stock valvetrain is definitely not a good idea. honda made the rev limiter for a reason. but if you have a good set of cams that make power that high and an upgraded valvetrain it would be a different story.

^^ i agree. I have a stock B18B1 LS bottom end but i have a B18C PR3 Type R head. I'm running Hondata with no limiter (I assume) and I'm afraid to go past 7000 just for the sake of the internals although the head will easily handle past that...

I recommend building up the motor if you plan on going that high regularly...pistons, rods, etc.

it is a good idea...to rev the engine up to 9200 with high lift/longer duration valve timing lol . youre probably gonna end up with some piston/valve smacking due to your high mileage and insufficiently strong valve springs. then you might as well remove the bent valves with aftermarket ones along with the proper springs.

Why???? Why would you want to rev to 9200? Stock GSR power curve drops off at about 8000rpm. Even with the cams i really doubt he picked up 1200 rpm worth of power. I would bet that the cams dont make power about 8500rpm. The last 700 would be all for show

good point. the main reason a gsr redlines at like 8200 as compared to an ls only revving to 7000-7200 is mostly because of the power curve. alot of cars are setup to have a redline that gives you the best shifting point; which is why a 92 integra redlines at 6800; its peak hp is 300 rpm higher than a 91 integra which redlines at 6500.

^ I was thinking the same. You can buy a Spoon motor and rev all you want.
