Default Car running but not moving

Okay well i just got finished my swap today and got the car running. After letting it run for about 15 minutes i was going to go move it to the garage.

When i got in the car to try to move it, it wouldn't move. When you put it in gear and let go of the clutch you can hear a type of grindish type sound like something is rubbing on something in the tranny. Even after you take your foot of the clutch the car wont move, but the speedo. is reading the speed as if it was moving.

We ended up having to push the car to the garage, while doing that we thought we would try and put it in gear and try to push. But it was just as easy as if it wasnt in gear at all. something isnt engaging i dont know...

I am clueless as to what it is. I hope all that made sense it is kind of hard to explain.

the axles are in, when the wheels were turning the axles moved also.

I was thinking it has something to do with the axles, but since they were moving i dont exactly know why it would be them, and plus there new, but that doesn't always mean anything.

I think that 91civicLX was refering to the axles being pushed into the tranny. The inner CV joints can look like their in place when actually their just barely in the tranny at all. Make sure the axles are shoved all of the way in and try again
