Default 89 DX 91 Si Gas Tank

Are they both swapable, i have a 89 dx crx and the junk yard has a 91 crx si gas tank. I need a new one since mine has a hole in it. i thought i'd fix it with JB weld. But I didn't know how that'd go. I contemplated on buying a brand new OEM tank thats like 100.00 or around there. And I can get the 91 Crx Si tank for 60. I did a quick search and I didn't really find anything on them being able to fit both of those models. But i read u on JB welding gas tanks. Thank you, any input is needed.

PS. i'm going to pick up some misc. parts from the yard in about an hour so thanks!

They should bolt up in the same spots but there is probably a difference in gallons that they hold.

if they bold right up but hold different amounts, meaning the dimensions are different... and it wont fit .. am i right? because i hope i'm not, it'd be cheaper at the yard.

Just because the dimensions are different doesn't mean that it won't fit. Think about it this way. Why would they modify the undercarriage for different gas tank sizes? They wouldn't if they were smart. They would make the tanks different sizes, but utilize the same stock mounting points. This is possible.
