Default K20 in a 6th gen

I did search, search function is down so flame away

looking for any links or info on this swap, also can anyone tell me for sure what car a k20a2 came out of, customer just purchased one from a boneyard for his 98 hx. I was under the impression that a k20a2 was a RSX-S motor and the k20a3 was the EP3 SI. but the customer said the boneyard told him the motor was out of an SI. If anyone can clear up the confusion on the motor and point me towards some links so I can do some research on this swap it would be greatly appreciated

I know I need the hasport kit, and an accord/prelude shifter box, I'm not sure on the ecu, can this swap be done and keep the check engine light off and the obd2 dlc connector working so the car will pass emissions (RI emissions uses the DLC connector for 96 and newer cars)

The K20A2 is the RSX Type S motor. Modified Mag did a great story on the swap in the Dec 04 issue. Hasprt does have the mounting kits available for his civic. That boneyard might have received the engine from an Si that did a swap. Or they could not know a damn thing. Anyhoo...good luck.

well the motor confusion is taken care of, it was the customer that didn't know anything, the motor code is a k20a3 he just brought it by the shop, I've got the Hasport mount kit ordered, now I just need to figure out the wiring and ecu stuff, I've heard something about the k20 ecu needing to be re-flashed? any info will help thanks in advance

I'm going through the same thing. I got a K20A2 RSX-S swap to go into my 2000 hatch.

Heres a list of things you'll need:
K20A2 swap w/ primary o2 sensor, ECU, shifter cables, and the wirinig harness
mounts
custom axles -- stock ones will only work with JDM ITR 5 lug hubs (36mm axles)
wiring conversion harness
customs header or TSX header
Accord/prelude shifter or RSX-S shifter box
EP3 power steering replacement pully -- PS pump won't fit under hood

Thats the main stuff. I went with all Hasport mounts, axles, and wiring harness because of their reputation, but they're not cheap. I got a DTR customs header because I went this far so why half-*** it now.

People are not lieing to you when they say its expensive. I wish I never got myself into this. I should have stuck with my D16Y8 plans.

Too much!! probably like $5000-6000 in parts by the time I've purchased everything. So far I have the swap, mounts, axles, exedy clutch, DC5 ITR flywheel, AEM SRI, and a shifter drop box so I can use the RSX-S shifter box. I still need the wiring harness, radiator, PS pully, and the shifter box.

I still haven't done the swap yet but its gonna run me about $2000 canadian.

thats the beauty of having a speed shop, its the customer that is spending the money and not me, I just got off the phone with Hasport, they were very helpful but I still need to find some links on the wiring side of this swap.

customer got pretty lucky, bought an entire swap from the boneyard for 1400$ us, came with engine wiring harness and interior wiring harness, axles, shifter cables and pretty much anything else you can think of...

I still need to locate a shifter box, and fabricating the exhaust will probably be a PITA but it shouldn't be too hard of a swap
