Default couple questions, 6th gen accord

so my mom drives a 6th gen (2002 = 6th gen right?) accord EX sedan, im probably going to get it as my first car come november and she wants a jetta or something.

i know it has a 2.3l vtec, i was wondering which one though, like h22 or what ever, i dont know much about them.

and how is their mod potential, i wouldnt be like turbo charging it but minor things like exhaust and intake, and lower it a bit etc.

thanks

one more thing, is the engine DOHC or SOHC?

it's SOHC

F23 is the engine code

you won't get much from bolt-ons.

suspension mods will make a WORLD of difference. the 6th gens handle nice!

The engine is an F23A1, SOHC
You will not see much of a gain from an intake and exhaust on the car. IMO, spending the cash on intake, headers, and cat-back is no where near worth it if that's is all you plan to do
I would start with a decent suspension set up and go from there.

APEX-i World Sport 2 is a great sounding exhaust. It is quiet when you want it to be and it rumbles when you want it to.

Check out the "Guide to basic accords" sticky thread for some very helpful info .
I love my WS2

WS2 is World Sport Exhaust 2. Pretty common exhaust.

Also, manual or automatic? That's pretty important to know as the auto can't take much abuse.

The Sportline Kit is the springs. You will want to upgrade your struts at the same time. I suggest KYB AGX. http://www.TireRack.com is a great place to start for this stuff.

would you go with sportline or Prokit?

OK, this is what i have so far,

Ive read the thread basic guide to accords....yeah....

so, i need to get springs, and shocks. and struts and mounts?

could i not just buy a suspension kit and avoid all the hassle? or does the suspension kit not come with struts and mounts?
