Default All JDM front end conversions in here

I am thinking about converting the front of my 94 gsr to the jdm front. I was curious who has done it and how hard it is to do. Also where did you buy your parts from etc. Any help on this would be great. Thanks so much just trying to get abetter idea as to what I am going to have to do.

the search button will provide you with infinite answers to your questions. this is probably the most commonly takled about topic on this site, so you shouldn't have a problem finding any info you need if you look...
try searching 'jdm front', 'front conversion', 'jdm conversion', etc.

I think there should be a FAQ or something about this, because theres alot of questions about it on here, and I'm a little curious on a few things myself.

Good places to get one, perhaps an install, fiberglass vs. metal kits etc. could be included. It would probably cut down on questions about them.

This might be a close second only to the LS Vtec question.

Most people dont use the FAQ enough. There is great info in there, but i still see questions allmost daily that could of been answered by looking in the FAQ

Very true. But if there was a FAQ, or at least something in the Integra FAQ, then instead of telling people to search (where they may not find what they need, and just give up) you could point them in the direction of the faq. And if they just give up, nobody learned anything, and it was a total waste of time and space on the forum.

So if anyone's interested on contributing to a FAQ for this, then post here, and maybe we can get one put together.

I've been thinking about doing a write up on the JDM Type R conversion. I did mine in my back yard without welding. I wish I took pics of the process...

I read that article and it's not very clear why he would cut the stock and jdm radiator supports in half. It doesnt make sense. When I did mine, I drilled out the spot welds as described in the article, but instead of cutting it in half, I completely removed the USDM radiator support. Then I installed the JDM radiator support. Simple as that. I think cutting it in half and welding would be more time consuming.

Also, you dont really need to weld. I used stainless steel rivits on all those spots where you drilled out the welds. On top of that, I used four 17mm bolts to hold the radiator support in place. It's really really strong and alot easier/cheaper than welding.

Plus, I sold the USDM radiator support, hood, headlights, fenders, and bumper for $6oo bucks to some guy who wanted a Integra front end on a Civic. I wouldnt be able to do that if I cut the radiator support...

interesting carma, i hadn't heard of anyone using bolts instead of welding. thats promising in case i ever want to do this conversion in the future (since i don't know how to weld ). i only wish you had pictures of the install. do you have any pictures of the end result?

Carma, would you be interested in doing a write up of this? and maybe include some pictures of the finished product? It could be for the install section of the FAQ...

and then there could possibly be feedback from other people about the quality of kits they got from certain places.

People might be wondering why I'm doing this, its because instead of telling everyone that asks about ITR front end conversions to search, we can point them in the direction of some actual information, and maybe they can find what they're looking for.

Thanks guys

Sure, I can do a lil' write up and I'll take some pic's of the finished product. I'll dig up some illustrations and a parts list.

I'll do it over the weekend and post it up in all it's jpeg glory.

so you dont need to weld if you have the JDM radiator support? that is my only fear of doing it myself is to weld.
