Default Still leaking oil??

Hey guys, I replaced my valve cover gaskets and the spark plug tubes seals about 3 times and I am still getting oil into my spark plugs. Has anyone had this issue before and what is the cause for oil to still coming in there. I tightened them the right way from center inside and then moving out. Its not leaking on the ground but its leaking into the spark plug tube seals after about a day or 2 depending on how long or far i drive. Help me out guys, i really dont want to spend a drip on bringing it to the shop. I went to 2 shops one was a local garage were i had minor work done to my car they said there not sure what it could be, they were just like they may charge about 60 or 70 on labor depending, then i went to an acura dealer and 90 bucks and hour for labor. I was hoping for an easier or not too expensive fix. Its been like this since i bought the car last year in July and i replaced them 3 times since then.

Any chance you have excessive crankcase pressure? Check your pcv valve and hoses. I had major oil filling up to the plug wires when I first bought my teg. So I bought a cheap valve cover gasket kit ($30) with plug grommets and cam plug off ebay and all has been well for the last 50K miles.

how tight did you tighten the valve cover nuts?? take it off and clean it real good before you put it back on. when you tighten the nuts, dont overtighten them.. this has caused mine to leak before.

yeah umm its totaly your piston rings youll need to replace them and you will have to take the whole engine out so good luck with that. I would buy a new engine if i were you. how old is it anyways?

ummm.. no he said its in the spark plug chamber/cylinder thing. Not the combustion chamber...

although it is your spark plug chambers it might be your rings, i asked this question in auto class for a friend, and i was told either that or the piston it self could have holes in it. Seriously have that checked out because the friend i asked for cracked his block a week ago, becuase he ended up running dry and overheating it.

try replacing the valve gasket rings one more time. you shouldn't need any kind of gasket sealant, just make sure that the tops of the cylinders are VERY clean and oil-free, same for the o rings. i had the same problem. it took me a couple tries, and now i have no oil in my spark plug cylinders.

if any oil gets between the gasket and the head, it's going to seep through. it needs to be rubber on metal.

what if i try some hondabond also. Oil wont be in it for about 2 days and then it comes in. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by LSvtec03 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">try replacing the valve gasket rings one more time. you shouldn't need any kind of gasket sealant, just make sure that the tops of the cylinders are VERY clean and oil-free, same for the o rings. i had the same problem. it took me a couple tries, and now i have no oil in my spark plug cylinders.

i know what you mean. my car did the same thing. but like i said, you shouldn't need any hondabond. the helms doesn't even mention sealant. even if you use it, you'll have to let it set for a while.

excuse me, but i don't think any of us KNOWS what is wrong with his engine because all we have to go by is what he's telling us.
btw, a little constructive critisism...if you like having friends, i would suggest never saying, 'umm, no. i think i would know' or '[i'm] right so don't argue with me.'

Like I said quite a few post up, I think you have excessing crankcase pressure forcing oil past your new seals into the spark plug tubes. Worn rings can cause this as well as improper PCV valve operation or setup. I don't see how it could be anything else since you replaced the seals several times, but I don't mind being wrong when I am just taking a somewhat edjucated guess. Good luck and try a compression test.

this is why you trial users have a 5 post limit..

oil in the plug cylinders is usually caused by the o ring gaskets.. how the hell would the oil blow by get past the spark plug?

and why not argue with you when your mad? are you gunna post something ugly and hurt my feelings?

dork.

edit: in fact i think i may make that my new sig.. thats pretty funny.

He already said that he replaced the tube gommets/seals 3 times. If that doesn't fix the oil leak, then maybe there is too much pressure pushing the oil past the seals. You do know that pressure can build and blow seals right? We are not talking about the oil going thru the cylinders past the plugs, but thru the grommets under the valve cover. Excess pressure CAN cause this and worn piston rings CAN be the culprit. I hope for his sake that he is only installing the grommets upside down or something.

check VTEC Solenoid. Those do leak oil sometimes and the gaskets for them are pretty cheap like $10-15.
