Default crank pulley removal

so i started my a6 > z6 swap last night, and i was told that in order to pull the tranny and motor far enough apart, i would have to remove the crank pulley from the motor. okay, fine. however, my air impact gun wont make it budge, and when i try to break it loose with a breaker bar, i can't get it to break loose that way either.

anyone have any creative or better ways to get it off? or maybe i was told wrong and i dont need to remove it? any info would be good. thanks

when i pulled out my a6 i didnt need to pull off the crank pulley... but it would of been really nice to do so... you should be fine about pulling it out with out removing the pulley, just be careful if it hits anywhere
