Default Making headights brighter for Accord

Hey guys. first post here. I was wondering what mod I would have to make, or what bulb replacement I can use to make my headlights brighter. I have a honda accord EX 2000 coupe v6. the headlights are pretty weak, I have OEM foglights too. Can I just buy a brighter wattage bulb? I would prefer a "white" color. Would I have to replace a lot for xeon? Thanks in advance!

silverstars or HIDs. .. silverstars are white in color but are known to have shorter life span.. any other good brand of bulbs would be piaa. just don't get those "HID" bulbs from ebay..

I say go with HID. The silverstars are a waste of money IMO. I got them for my pathfinder and I can say the brightness isn't any better than it was with the stock bulbs.

unless you are gonna do a HID retrofit too then don't get the HID's. You are just gonna blind everyone off the road.

My CL-S doesnt blind anyone...and it uses a rather higher lumens setup. It doesnt have the sharp cut off that projector housings do, but it certainly doesnt cause a blinding light to be emmited. And from what i understand, the Acura HID kits are an easy modification to newer model accords.

You know why they outlawed aftermarket HID kits? its because SUV's and trucks were using them, and those vehicles beam patterns are typically right in the line of site of regular passenger and sports cars...people were complaining that large hummers, Escalades and the like were blinding them with HID's when really, no matter what they use, if their in the right spot, they'll damn near blind you.

Silverstars are near worthless...thats just my opinion though.

Thanks. Any suggestions for a good HID kit? Whats a good site to purchase them from? Is installation difficult or should I get a professional to do it? Thanks

I think theres a guy on here that sells HID ballasts and full kits rather cheap, go look in the classifieds.

Also, how is this kit:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1224207
this guy is selling?

Money is not the main issue for me. I just want a reliable kit that will make my headlights brighter.

I was wondering if I installed this, what would happen to my high beams and fog lights? These would remain the normal yellow color? Thanks.

That kit looks okay though I've never heard of it before. You will still retain your high beams if they have seperate bulbs from the low beams which being an accord it should. The fog lights would remain unaffected as well.

I have heard of people putting hyper white bulbs that are HID color in the foglights to make them look similar to HID's even though you can't see any better than with the yellow ones. For high beams I would probably get a kit that has highbeams I assume in the same bulbs and just use those not your other high beams but you could just use the other ones and either upgrade to hyper white bulbs or leave them yellow.

what brand? catz? mucolloce is around that price niche but they are far from nice in my book

only brand i would get from is hella, phillip or oem retrofit.
brand new hella, is around 350-400

higher wattage blub is pretty much a waste of money

Try to hook up some metal halide lights. A 150watt system aught to give you good light.

Alot of people sell fake stuff on eBay, the worst part is that sometimes you won't notice the difference!

Anyways, You should do a TSX retrofit

you should go to http://www.rallylights.com and get some optilux offroading bulbs. they usually come in 80 watt dimms and 100 watt brights, excellent white color light with a hint of blue, real good priceing too. it was 50 dollars to replace all 4 of my bulbs in 1992 accord.

I used the X5 8000K on mine and I love them, they are especially nice because the ballast and igniter are built into one unit for ease of install. It also makes it a bit cleaner.

Exactly...do it right and get more light out of those headlights and more safety.

hid retrofit = money saved by doing it right the first time

HID is just the kit itself, projection is replacing your stock housing/headlight with projectors and retrofitting is taking your stock housing/headlight apart and putting projectors inside of them (most expensive of the 3). I would suggest you to just get an HID with like 6000K bulbs. I am using an HID kit in my 01 accord coupe, I tried the 5000K its kinda white, but with a little yellow in it. Currently I'm using 8000K bulbs its kinda whiteish/blueish. But if you have the money to spend, I would suggest getting projectors and then installing an HID kit into it makes for a better cutoff.
