Boston or MBquarts?
Im getting new speakers for my truck since my honda is done. I have Mbquarts in my old gsr n liked them but they were 500 bucks for a set of comp. I never ran bostons what do you guys think of them both.
Bostons all the way. Althought I think that you should also think about Focals. Great speakers, they have a nice range and will more than likely fit into your budget.
Im ordering Boston Pro60 at the end of next week. Heres a link to them

Worth 400 bucks? I hope so. They sounded great at the stereo shop.

booo.
The only real thing the MB lacks compared to the competition is midbass. other than that, i prefer MB.
then again, I am only speaking about the MB's highest line, not the discus. Anything below that, prefer something else.
so we learn that MB>seas

I heard the new Diamond Audio D9 at a shop and they were very nice. The midrange was smooth and so were the tweeters. If anything, the only thing I would criticize about the sets are the tweeters, because they aren't as dynamic. They sound nice, but not really much going on.

I'm thinking of buying some reference speakers. What don't you like about them? They're a lot of money, I don't want to go wrong here.

Bostons! They sound warm and rich but very precise. As with most things, you get what you pay for. If you buy the low-line Bostons and compare them to the $500 Quarts in your GSR you'll be disappointed. Boston Pro Series are quite nice
. If you're up for spending some dough, the Focal Utopias are great.
I noticed that Crutchfiled carries Boston, now.

As far as mb quarts go, at LEAST get the premium series if not the qsd's. The rce's sound like *** imo.
I would suggest diamond audio s600's too, but I can't say I've heard the d971's sound as good as they should yet. Even the s600's kick their *** in the setup I've heard.

mb quart isn't what it was 5 years ago. its not even made in germany anymore its made in the same plant as all other rockford speakers... i'd go with the bostons if you want alot of reasons come and talk to some of us on caraudio.com go with some boston pro60's or Z6's you also might look at some rainbow or DLS speakers, im about to buy a pair of DLS iridum 6.2s
hmmph, i was having a conversation yesterday with the owner of autosound who has been dealing MB quart for quite awhile as well and he told me they were being manufactured in the Rockford plants now, i also read some articles on the net that suggested that but the truth is i honestly dont know. Anyway after having listened to MB quarts as of late i would have to say the BA's are superior, i would have no second thoughts if i bought the Pro60's over the MB's
There's more to it than speakers.. IMO, the headunit, amplifier, and adjustments make most of your sound quality. The speakers would come last on the list. Unless ofcourse we're talking about shitty swapmeet spkrs.
