Best time of year to buy a Street Bike???
I want to buy a bike when prices are lowest. I was wondering when that is??? Fall or winter?? Prices are high now b/c everyone wants one for the summer.

Where you are, Maryland, there is a riding season. So in the winter would be the best time to purchase, although deals can be found just before riding season.
If you're in a place with year-round moderate weather, like Los Angeles, then you will generally find high prices throughout the year.

Right about fall for you. Say end of Sep - early Oct. '06 Models will be out, may catch some insane deals on '05's. Maybe even '04's left. Plus others may be looking to upgrade or buy new bikes and prices will be lower. Just browsing eBay the other day and it's amazing how much prices have gone up on the same bikes since fall - winter time, since as you said they will fetch the asking price because people gotta have one RIGHT NOW.
If you are looking to buy new from a dealership, either in the very beginning of the season or at the very end of the season is the best time to buy. In the beginning of the season all that brands typically have some great incentives like fixed APR with low monthly payments, or bunus cash for gear. At the end of the season you will see the dealerships dropping the prices on bikes a little bit to get rid of them, but typically there are no great financing promotions going on. One of the best things to do is go to a dealership early in the season and see what they have left over from last year, because they will definitely want to get rid of it, and will really take a lot off the price tag.
If you are looking to buy used, the winter is the best time of year. All kinds of people (especially college kids and **** like that) finance brand new bikes, and then winter comes around, and they are tight on cash, and they aren't using the bike so they try to get rid of it. A lot of times they need to get rid of it fast, and they know that they can't charge much, because it's tough to sell someone something they can't even use for three months after they purchased it.
