help: rear left speakers clicks when adjusting volume
just spents a long *** time installing my sony 3-ways and after putting everything back together, i found one the one of the speakers makes a clicking noise when i adjust my volume.
wtf is wrong?
i did test to see if the speakers were okay before putting everything back together.
but i didnt adjust the volume.
i have a 96 teg. so its a bitch installing the rear speakers.
anyone have an idea on why its clicking when i adjust the volume?
is it because i accidently soldered the positive wire on the negetive side and vise versa?

First, no, mixing the pos. and neg. will not cause a "clicking" it would only put the rear speakers out of phase with each other, [no bass] The way to find out where the problem is, is to switch the rear speaker leads at the back of the HU, wire the left speaker to the right speaker output and the right speaker to the left speaker output. then listen again, if the "clicking" has moved to the other speaker. [right rear] then the problem is in the HU, if it is still on the same speaker, [left rear] the problem is in the speaker, the speaker wiring or the HU wiring.

this started to happed when i upgraded my speakers.
so it cant be the headunit.
im thinking its the way i wired the speaker. or maybe the speaker is bad.

again, it is only clickign when i adjust the volume.
also makes a humming noise when nothing is playing. just with the HU on.

Because of the shape of the aftermarket speaker compered to the stock one the speaker terminal on the aftermarket speaker is not in the same place as on the stock speaker, [deeper down, farther out or a longer wider terminal] so the term may be touching ground, [maybe just barely] you are going to have to pull the speaker anyway to see if it's the speaker that is the problem, when you do check where the term. sit when speaker is in place, [do you still have the "clicking" if the speaker is not mounted

I don't know what speaker manufacture you are talking about, but we would drop the line, if that was the case, and again, it's never happened to me in over 30 years, BTW you can stop YELLING anytime.

will actually, no heat was applied to the speaker.
all i did was applied heat to the lead and let it drop down to the wire and the terminal.
i did about two drops. and if it needed in correction, all i did was a little touch up with the iron. nothing (I think) that would do harm to the speakers.

okay, i just tested another speaker and it is obviously not the speaker that is clicking. something is wrong with my connection. i check my connection and everything seemed to be fine.
i did let a shop installed my Rosen double din dvd player in my car, so I am guessing that is the problem.
maybe they were in a rush and just forget to go over there work.
i will take my car back there to see if they can take a look at it.
Too bad i lost my freaking receipt, i hope they would at least remeber my car.
so yes, im thinking the head unit connection is the problem.
i spend another hour looking through my connection and was sweating real bad.
all that for nothing.

Sounds like maybe they switched the wires on the speaker connections and are maybe bridging the amp in the deck. or, they are actually touching each other. Sounds like they have the units amp clipping maybe.
