Honda Civic + Amp-100 + MP3 player - Deck = no sound?
So, I have a 95 Civic. I took out the factory tape player a long time ago, went through a couple CD players, and now I have no deck at all. I've been working on installing an Amp-100. I have gotten power to it, plugged my MP3 player into it's RCA ins, but I can't get anything to come out of the speakers. I'm obviously a novice to electical installation and car audio, so I have no clue what the problem is. I was under the impression that I wouldn't need anything other than the AMP-100 and an auxilliary device (MP3 player) to get sound out of my speakers.
I have 4 speakers, but the AMP-100 just has R/L speaker outputs. I've tried bridging like rear left+ and front left+ from the speakers to L+ on the AMP-100, etc. but with no result. I also tried just wiring the front speakers to the L/R and no result. It doesn't seem like this should be the problem anyway.
So is it that the Civic has no factory amp? But shouldn't the AMP-100 be enough to at least hear SOMETHING? Also, the CIVIC has a blue/white wire that is labelled "Amplifier Turn On" in the wiring diagram I used. Should this be connected to something? Where would this get its signal from if I don't have a deck?
Anyway, thanks for reading. If you have any suggestions, fire away.

Not sure what an Amp-100 is, but if its like any other amp and has a 12v+ term. and a 12V- term. and a remote term. along with the 4 speaker term., then the remote term. has to be wired to a 12V+ switched source, [as your MP3 player will not have an amp turn on lead] you can use the stock acc. wire, [yellow/red] or red if using an adpt.harness.
When you say "the Civic has a blue/white wire that is marked Amplifier Turn On" you are talking about the adpt. harness that plugs into the cars stock radio harness right, [because Honda/Acura does not have a blue/white wire in their stock radio harness]

sorry, i meant to post the link to the Amp-100:
http://www.davidnavone.com/amp-100.htm
so yeah, the problem isn't that there's no power to the amp-100. i have that running as far as I can tell (the green power LED is on) but when connected to my MP3 players and my car speakers, there's no sound. i'm not using any harness because my stock harness got butchered a long time ago, and now I'm not using a deck, so no adapter harness. it's hard wired (I know, I know).
what i'm really wondering if there is like a factory amp in there somewhere that needs some signal to turn on...

so i just checked out my wiring again
the speakers are all correctly wired, according to my honda wiring diagram.
the power is as follows:
remote line on amp -- 12v+ from battery
power on amp -- 12v+ from battery
ground on amp -- chassis ground
no problem here as far as I can tell... I mean, the amp shows me that it's on.
then there are 3 unused wires from the car:
white/blue --> diagram tells me this should be the battery wire (I had a CD player installed at best buy... my thought is that this wire didn't work, so they ran a wire straight to the battery, which is a red wire that I'm currently using for my 12v+)
red/black: diagram calls this a dimmer
yellow/red: this is supposedly my ignition/accessory wire, but if I connect my power/remote to this and then turn on the car, no power gets to the amp.
(oh yeah, a lot of these wires are connected to secondary standard wires from that would've gone to the harness on my previous deck, but the harness is cut off)
so that white/blue one i mentioned is connected to a blue/white one from the original harness... on my diagram, it says that blue/white normally means
"Amplifier Turn On" but it's connected to the white/blue which honda calls "Battery/Memory"... I didn't do this, but there must be a reason it's like this...?
anyway, is there anything obviously messed up here? my previous CD player worked fine, and nothing has changed in the wiring since I had that...
I feel like if the amp says it is powered on, and the speaker wiring is just as in the diagram, it should be playing... but it's not.

The "remote line on amp", [orange] should go to a switched 12V+, but it should work off the batt. also, [the amp will just stay on all the time] it should be wired to the yellow/red, switched ign., [check and make sure radio fuse is still good]
White w/ blue or yellow stripe is constant power, on a lot of newer HUs the stock "batt. wire" can't carry enough power, it's only a 7.5A in the engine bay fuse box, [ if your not using this wire, cap it off] The red/black, [dimmer] wire should be capped off also.
The white/blue and the blue/white where miswired before when they did your HU, if that wire was miswired maybe others were also, I would remove all the non oem wires, [any of the wires of the old HU] just to be sure. BTW there is nothing wrong with "hard wiring", [anybody that says it is, is wrong] don't forget to check the radio fuse in the in car fuse box, [ yellow/red acc./ign. wire]
Where are you getting the 12v+ for the amp from, are you getting both the 12v+ and the remote, [orange] from the wire that Best Buy ran for your old HU?
So if all of this is wired properly, [including the speakers] [I would check the speaker connections] then that only leaves the amp as the problem, does it have any kind of warranty on it?
