popping out of gear / shifter movement
when i first got my 92 hatch, i noticed the shifter moving as i let the clutch out at lights. my first impression was the motor mounts, so i slowly changed those 1 at a time hoping it would be fine with one or a couple new ones. it still did it, so i got all the polyurethane inserts. still does it..... BUT the only mount i didnt mess with is the rear one behind the trans. i have no idea how else there would be movement in the shifter to make it feel like the motor is flexing.
could it all be in that rear mount or could it be something else?

im thinking something like that too because I took off in 1st with my hood open watching the motor and it doesnt seem like its moving at all!
my shift bushings are good though

New clutch? My car was doing that also but i just ignored it, but than i got a new clutch and it was perfect
My friends car was fine and he got some cheapo aftermarket super clutch of ebay and his car slipped out of gear alot like mine did, make sure you get a nice clutch if thats the problem
good luck
EDIT: sick hatch color BTW

also if its poppin out of gear, if it grinds when u try and put it back in or grinds at all, ure tranny is fucked man.
solotion = new rear mount + trany</TD></TR></TABLE>
the weird thing is that the shifter moves as i take off or give it gas, but i dont see the motor flexing at all. i even put a crowbar on it and it was pretty tight.

thanks for the compliment
but anyways..... your car felt like it had blown out motor mounts and you changed the CLUTCH and it went away?? that doesnt make any sense! but hey....i do need a clutch and probably a new pilot bearing.

if its popping out of gear check the tranny fluid level... my friends b16 had a bad axle seal and would slowly leak the fluid out and pop out of gear... we fixed the seal and filled it back up and it hasnt happened since... the flexing does sound like a motor mount prob... the rear one i think would be the main one to cause movement and you said you havent messed with it... i would check that... my friends shifter moved like you were saying when you pressed the gas... we polyurethaned all the mounts and it was no more
