Hi i own a 97 civic DX (D16Y7) and im swaping a 95 civic ex (D16z6) head onto my Y7 block. i just wanted to kno how to hook up the Vtec and the ECU and the Vtec Solnoid and stuff. is there anything that i need to buy extra or anything that i need to pull out of my Y7.

 

from what I remember it's been a while, vtec line is just one green line you can get a vtec ecu should just plug right up if you do same OBD should just plug right up only thing diffrent would be vtec line usually. don't hold me too that it's been a while but like I said only thing diffrent should be Vtec line and how it's engaged with either changed ECU or I've seen vtec engaged with a shift changer light on a Autometer RPM gauge the motor will work fine also before you figure out what your going to do to get vtec going.

 

the sohc vtec solenoid has three wires, ground, vtec(green), and vtec oil preasure sensor(orange i think) also if i remember correctly you have to hook up a knock sensor.
