I was at the BMW dealer today and saw a really nice CF helmet but it was $900. Are there any other nice ones that are cheaper?

Yea, that's the one they had there. It seems like they're the only ones that make a full carbon helmet. I googled for a while but didn't come up with much.

 

Why do you want a CF helmet?

 

It's lighter, and looks nice.

I see. For me, that does not justify a $900 helmet. Make me a helmet from cf, that is light, looks nice (arbitrary, though), and gives head, and then we'll talk money...

Same here, that's why I want to find one cheaper I saw a few CF dirtbike helmets which were pretty cheap but that doesn't help. Has anyone ever worn a NXT helmet? http://www.nexlsports.com/

and you do know that most head injurys do not come from impact right? It's the whipping around of your head from heavy helmets.

This argument sounds similar to those who would argue that a helmet can cause breakage of the collar bones. I haven't heard of any injuries that result from your head whipping around because of a heavy helmet. Where did you find this information?
