MY car is burning oil and i just wanted to replace the engine with a bolt on one. and heard the jdm sohc zc make about 130 hp and 100lb torques. where can i find this engine for sale online. if anyone in chicago have one that would be better thanks let me know. and what is a resaonable price for that engine?

i know where u can get a dohc zc for 350, but it is motor only. What part of chicago u from?

 

i know of soko america only buut i only want the sohc oone not the dual i don;t feel like loooking for ecu's and what not just a staright swap.

 

SOHC ZC JDM engines are at most rated at 120ps (non vtec). 130ps is the DOHC model, or SOHC VTEC. the bottom end of a SOHC ZC is very similar (identical?) to the D16A6, the power differences are in the air intake type (PGMFI, carb), cam (carb and PGMFI are NOT the same either), and exhaust manifold (4-2-1 vs. short 4-1) and probably ECU has something to do with it.

just make sure you dont have a head from a carbed engine and it should be better power than an A6. check by looking at the distributor end of head in the back. the "port" should be still be closed from the original casting. if its sealed up with a plate, then it was a carbed engine. but really, all you need is the cam, thats all thats different in the head.

there seems to be a MAJOR influx of JDM ZC engines lately. not sure why. but im even finding them in the junkyards. i think california recognizes the SOHC ZC as a smog legal swap.
