I want an F2!
ok..so i changed my mind..instead of the 96+ ZX7-R..i want a cbr F2
..its a little more within my price range compared to the zx7 wich was pushing the price range limits, its a HONDA!!!
..its a 600..and im liking the style of them more and more(with the exception of the headlight)..but i can deal with that...does anyone have any opinions of this bike? any first hand experience? anything i should look at/for when buying a F2?..thanks in advance

yeah..the price range im looking to stay in is 3000...and alot of f2's are in the 2-3k range so thats perfect..i still wanna have some $ left over for a tuneup and whatever else it may need just so i know where the maintence stands..maybe a exhaust system or somthing
..im looking for one thats as completly stock as possible...most of them have slipons and whatnot but im not looking for anythi9ng more than that...thanks for the input so far..when does the F2 generation start and end?..91-94?

The F2 was made from 91-94, the F3 from 95-98. The 94 F2 had upgraded forks (compared to the 91-93), which are the same forks found on the F3. Style-wise, the F2 and F3s are different. Among the F3, the tail section of the 95/96 and 97/98 F3s are different. Everything else is pretty much the same.
The bike (f2 or f3) is relatively bulletproof. I bought an F3 with 38k miles on it, put on another 17k (55k total) before I sold it, and it still ran like a champ.
F2 and F3 bikes (and various other CBRs) have a habit of eating cam chain tensioners and frying their regulator/rectifiers. For the former problem, you could buy a manual CCT and adjust it every year, or buy a CCT from Honda that will need replacing (more expensive). The latter problem can be fixed by purchasing an aftermarket R/R, and I've heard of some owners adapting a GSXR R/R or the upgraded VFR R/R.
