i have changed bb/master cylinders on civic coupes with motor in car. takes patience. if you are having clearance issues, you might want to drop motor a bit by loosening both driverside mounts and a/c bracket

I have air tools, do I need a engine hoist to drop the engine a bit? Please let me know the detail, thanks a lot.

when i installed a 98 GSR booster in a CX hatch, I unscrewed the hook thing that attaches to the pedal and it slid right in. No removing or unbolting engine. I didnt even take the BB and MC apart.

Thanks guys, maybe because I have B16A, the instake manifold is big and would not let the huge brake booster go in...

As you can see I have already shorten the push rod...and the shock tower and intake manifold would not give me enough space to slide the BB in. Thanks.

If you're having that much trouble. I suggest you remove the driver's side engine mount and let the engine drop a few inches so the BB will clear the intake manifold.

Can I do that myself? Do I need a hoist or something to hold the engine or I can just take it off using my air gun?

You can do it yourself and no you don't need a engine hoist. Just put a floor jack under the oil pan when you drop the engine to brace it(I've done this countless times). No air gun needed unless you're in a hurry. simple ratchet set will do.

BTW remove BOTH driver's side engine mount. Not just one.

FYI...that looks like a 94-97 integra BB....which means you got to use the 94-97 MC, which doesn't bolt to the flare screws on the lines. one of the holes are larger on the MC.

the only BB/MC combo that bolts onto the EG is the 98-01 Integra or 99-00 Si. Just minor rebending of the lines but all lines bolt to the MC.

The seller told me BB+MC came off a 2001 GSR, and I just went out to test fit..yes they do bolt on no problem except I have ot rebend the line.

ok...N/M the BB is a 98+ because the 94-97 has the MC holes slanted whereas the 98+ are across.

I am about to remove the two driver side mounts and drop the motor by a bit, do I need to remove the axle from the spindle to do this?

You dont need to remove the axle.......... just put a jack under the oil pan (with something inbetween so you dont damage your oil pan) and loosen the 2 driver side engine mounts and let the jack down a little.

That should bring down the intake manifold enough to squeeze that bitch in there.

I have a 00 si bb and mc in my 00 dx hatch and it went in without a problem, I just had to seperate the mc from the bb.......... so i don't really know why you're having problems..........
