radiator cooling fan does not run on idling or low speed, but it run after turn off engine
Having problems with radiator cooling fan not coming on when engine gets hot with the engine idling or low speed. But it will run when i swith off the engine. When I went to high way, temperature was ok. After that, when the engine is on idling or in city driving, engine will get hot quickly and fan still did notwork. It puzzled me that it run after I turn off engine. I am afraid that it will run off my battery sometime.
i JUSt fixed this problem on my 96 accord
which car do you have, if its the accord, i can help you no problem

we know the fan engages so it is not a motor of a fuse issue,,,,,,first of all make sure you got planty of coolant in radiator, make sure t-stat is opening up on time if stuck closed coolant will not circulate thus fan won't come on, if those are ok.. on the t-stat housing there is a fan switch green plug i believe, unplug it and jump wires if fan comes on that is your problem ... it is normal for fan to run after engine is shut off it comes on in hot weather or when underhood temp is too high normally it should only run for about 10-15 minutes
My car is 95 Honda Accord LE. My coolant level is ok in radiator and tank. This phenomena did not happen last year. ANY SUGGESTIONS? Thnks
