Default DIY: RED OUT LIGHTS ON EK

i dont know about you guys, but i personally dont like the orange or "amber" parts on my rear lights..so i decided to customize it in a cheap way..gotta love them DIY threads!

supplies you will need:
2 cans of testors transparent candy apple red paint
wrench or socket thingy
scotch tape or painter's tape any tape will work
an exacto blade or sharp utencil
small sheet of sandpaper

STEP ONE: after successfully removing all 4 nuts from each side of light, take sandpaper to sand down any small or big scratches.[no pix on sanding, bc i didnt have a lot to sand down]

STEP TWO: tape up the reverse part in the light, and the black parts on the side of the lights if u dont want paint to get on em

STEP THREE: using the exacto knife or sharp tool, cut in the crevices of the taped up reverse part

STEP FOUR: start the painting process!

paint as many coats as u want until u get the desired color..but dont forget, the more paint u spray, the more possibility it has to drip, so becareful ;]

they should look like this:

NOW THAT YOU'RE WAITING FOR THEM TO DRY, WHY THE HECK NOT??

STEPS FIVE AND SIX: remove tape, and put the lights back on

ENDING RESULT:

hope this was helpful

need a more in depth write up. You forgot you want a high grit sandpaper and you want to wetsand, not dry. I don't see why you didnt just buy or trade (someone on HT would have traded 99-00 for 96-98's) for 99-00 ones.
