hey ppl, i have a 96 lude vtec, its been backfiring i think,i can here the slight popping from my exhaust onlyin idle. it happens more when i have the ac on, the timing belt and water pump has been changed recently so i dont think its timing, also the msd wires(metal connector part) came off the wire, so re-crimped it and have it on now. advice any1?thanx. oh and the car has 70,000mi.
If it is backfiring that means your running too rich or your not getting complete combustion=raw fuel hitting your exhaust and exploding.. Do a visual inspection and see if any vaccum lines are cracked/disconnected. Have you changed your spark plugs recently and double check your msd wires, check for the correct resistance. Hope this gives you somewhere to start.
