I have lurked here a while before purchasing a Honda and joining the forums. Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to help me out.

OK, I have a 1996 Civic EX 4 dr. The left rear door (drivers side) lock WILL NOT lock no matter what I do. The remote lock system will not lock it, the automatic lock will not lock it, and you cannot even push down manually to lock it. I did some research and everyone seems to be saying it will require the replacement of an acutator? *spelling.
I compared the lock on the other rear door to the one that is not working, and I saw a white locking mechanism that has 2 small plastic peices inside. On the side that works, the plastic peices (round like) are very tight together and easily slide. On the side that is defective, the 2 lock peices actually start to move apart. I already tried a little super oil on it, thinking it may just need some lube, and it did nothing.

Any ideas?
