Default is it ok to reuse head bolts?

i've always heard, never reuse head bolts, but i hear about people doint it with hondas all the time, is there something special about honda head bolts that this dosn't apply, or are they just doing something stupid? basically my friend over revved my engine to about 12k, i took the head to a machine shop and got it all fixed up, not its time to put it back on, should i need head bolts? i don't know the history of the engine before i had it, but i changed the head gasket before and reused the bolts, btw its a jdm b18c

just check the bolt length to see if they are with in spec (manual),
but i wouldn't, since they are designed to stretch .. while ur at it ARP studs

arps are studs not bolts correct? whats the install procedure for them, how do you tighten the stud before the nut is on?

Ask BauleyCivic about re-using them. His stretched out while he was driving and caused a ginormous mess.

No, I would most definately not reuse them.

Not to mention they are pretty cheap...some thing like a $1 or $2 for OEM

You know what really sucks, the head bolts for the d16y8 are on back order so I can't even get new ones. And I'm not about to fork out money for ARPs on a engine that wont be in my car come the end of this year.
