E28M5 vs R&D Hatchcrap...
I will abreviate this as much as possible:
I get a call this morning from a shop across town that we are friends with. They do mostly repair on high end exotics (yeah, in Charleston...?). Owner has a Diablo and his brother has an E28M5..license plate reads MPROVED. Cutting to the chase...
"Hey, Dave, this is Martin. You still have your M5?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Well, not sure if you would do this, but you think you could run me sometime. I just did some cams and I want to see how much faster the car is."
"Sure, we can do that...but, how about Daniel and I come over there and you run his Honda?"
"LOL. You mean that red car? Is it FAST? I guess, ok."
"Great, we will see you in about 15 minutes."
Fast forward to arrival...as soon as we get there, Martin comes out and says "let's go." Daniel and Martin head up the street and line up heading back toward our direction - road is empty - Carl (Martins brother) and a customer having some work done on his lead sled MBZ join me to watch.
Round 1 - Hatch crap pulls from the start to third (let off)
Round 2 - Same results, although Martin tried launching harder
Needless to say, they have a newfound respect for Honda power. I think we reuined their day, too. My only regret is not getting the whole ordeal on film. Maybe we will go back once the ATS is installed...LOL.
