Default Gen 2 sunroof's and has anyone made a glass one or is it impossible?

Hi guys,
I don't know if this is a spoken about topic or not but i wanted to know if anyone has changed their sunroof (not glass top) to a glass pannel, allowing it to still be able to move. i hope that i haven't posted a new topic and it's already been done.
i thought about getting some custom glass cut and then getting it fitted and also having a black strip on the top of it about 10cm's wide so that you cuoldn't see the internal's of the roof. i have been told that you can't fit civic or integra roof's to them but i would be willing to try.
please post back feed back.

Civic Si one is bigger.

HF one doesn't slide.

I've never seen it done but bump for info.

being a man isn't going to work as im a girl!
there's a guy in australia that did it but he just put in a custom sun roof and it had nothing to do with the existing roof.

All the glass ones I've seen on other Hondas/Acuras were too small. Too big wouldn't be that big a deal - just have the panel cut to size. Too small, though, is an issue... '88-'91 Civic Si one is too small (I had an '89 Si, and measured just to see when I totalled the car and stripped it). '90-'93 Accord, too small. Preludes up to '92... small. 2G Integras... small. And so on.

More power to ya if you can make it happen, but it looks like more work than I'm willing to take on!

yes there is a glass sunroof for crx
my friend has one it came with the car when he bought it used. my friends and i were not sure where it came from or if it was a rare option from honda. all that ive been able to figure out is that it could be aftermarket because in the early 90's glass sunroofs were really popular and there were many companies doing it but they seem to all go away along with the glass sunroofs making it a very rare item. his was the first time i have ever seen one or heard of and ive been into crx's for about 3 years now. ill get pics next time i see him

Yeah, I've seen DX and HF models with the aftermarket glass or plastic "pop-out" sunroofs on them, but not with an electric power sliding glass sunroof panel. I wouldn't doubt that someone's found a way to do it, and I'd love to see it, but I haven't seen one yet.

There IS the JDM full glass roof panel, of course... If you haven't seen it, it's a solid piece of glass (doesn't open at all) that replaces all of the roof panel of the CRX except for about the front six inches. Part of me kinda wants one, but being in Texas in the summer, I quickly forget about that notion; I don't think I could take rolling around in a mobile greenhouse!

i heard the 4th gen prelude glass roof is almost the same shape as the crx, and that it just has to be trimmed abit to work, but i havent seen it done... my friend has a 4th gen prelude lying around so i think i might try it out

thanks for the feed back.
about the 4th gen lude roof fitting, some one who has one should measure it and i'll post up some measurements from the crx roof and we can compair. i'm thinking about getting a custom roof made gettin a glass fitter to cut me a piece of glass with tint the same size as the origional one and fitting it.
about the glass top stock roofs and texas, probobly a bad mix but like you i love them and have days where i wish i had one.
ok get back to me, thanks.

theOldOne at Endyn mentioned "drape forming" one out of "Murgard Lexan". I assume this means heat-shaping a peice of lexan into the right shape.

There is a guy in Texas who makes it. Here are some pics off a CRX. He sells them on eBay for like $200. It's made of Lexan, not glass. It doesn't slide but I think it looks a damn lot better. Just search yahoo for crx lexan sunroof. I see him selling them on there all time. Later!

it is a 90 dx crx with what im thinking to be an aftermarket replacement moon roof for the optional factory sunroof available for the dx crx's and si sunroofs

This is obviously not a replacement roof for dxs or any other crx. I talked the guy who makes and sells them. From what I can your gonna have cut a huge ******* hole in the roof of your non-sunroofed crx and seal up the inside all fancy like the men and women of Honda would. Even though it doesn't slide or block sun, I'm definetely getting one.
