i found a crx with like300,000 miles on it. the guy said it runs great and i could drive it away. but i dont know how to get temp plates . and i cant afford a tow. its 3 hours away form my house. has anyone baught a car from out of state and drivee it back home? what papers do you need to get. and or what are other options. i dont wanna just take my plates off and bring them casue if i get pulled over im gonna go to jail.

i would say get a bill of sale from the guy and make sure you have your liability insurance papers when your going to pick up the car. If you get pulled over just explain to the cops that you just purchased the car, show them the bill of sale, and your insurance and you should be good

What I did. I bought a car in FL...drove it to TX, stayed for a week then drove to ND. Got pulled over once and I flashed htem the bill of sale and all was good. Went to the DMV as soon as I got home and the bill of sale got me temp plates. Make sure you get a bill of sale.

if you do that please take camcorder and digicam i wanna see what kind of trouble you get yourself into! for this guy towing a car with an auto dxer!

 

well i ende up drivng it back. but what do you think would happen if i didi tow it with the auto dxer. blown tranny? gasket

 

Just drive it...I drove from Conn. to MI and got yanked in Penn.....We were driving with no insureance and no plate.....showed them the receipt and it was all good.

They let us go...

 

As long as you got a bill of sale you'll be straight.
