I look at everyones tires on H-T and it seems like everyone is running Azenis Sport... but Falken seemed to discontinue them? why? i know the have the new Azenis out but why would they discontinue such a popular tire? the old ones look way better in My opinion? how do you feel about the new Azenis compared to the old ones, THANKS

i buy em for the look and for their performance
i cant seem to find a tire that even touches the performance or looks of the Azenis Sport

Got my set of RT615 in. First impressions:
- they are a bit narrower than the old ones... compared side by side you can see it in the pictures.
- definiately lighter than the 215's, (noticably)
- sidewall is a bit softer on the 615's
- tread pattern looks awesome

sidewall is quite a bit softer - they feel much different from the old azenis... much softer ride. way more streetable.. but the grip is there.. very suprised how well they stick.. tried them at auto-x last weekend... very slippery when cold and they screech a lot... but when warmed up they held very well.. was fastest car out of the ones with street tires..

actually falken did a very smart thing
instead of chasing peak grip they made them better all around, treadwear, wet driving, noise and even the overall level of performance went up

Ok, but when did people buying azenis care about road noise...or wet grip...or treadwear...these tires were never really meant for that. I just am not seeing how much better these are...I think they are still under the performance of other tires like the new Hankooks or the MXs.

i think they partly did it because now that its not basically a full race tire alot more people will be interested. a tire that performs well enough to race on that you can drive on comfortably to the track...sounds great right?i think thats what they had in mind, i mean i have azenis and they wore out QUICK but i LOVE the performance from them. and for me the new azenis with better tread life sound more interesting, but i think im giving up on azenis. ive been looking into g-force's or maybe some mx's but i dont have a huge tire budget as of right now. i heard the new FUSION line up was pretty good for the money. i dont know i like having tire discussions, lets me get a whole lot of ideas and opinons on tires out there.

hehe why is a post about tires, especially ones that there is already probably 30+ posts on in the appearance forum?
Most auto-x reports of the tires so far say they are good. They are different than the old ones and will require a different car setup to take full advantage of.
Definitely not worth the $20 price increase. Hankook z212 are a great alternative.
