Default Fire Extinguisher Install Pics! 56k? - it is worth the wait! 2.5lb Amerex mounted in front of the dr

2.5lb Amerex mounted in front of the drivers seat in a Subaru Impreza and a Hyundai Elantra.

Easy install! Just four bolts, nuts, lock washers and some locktight.

This is just like the ones we have for sale in our group buy right now!

I think it would be better in the back of the seat if anywhere. Looks kind of funny there IMO.

excuse my ignorance, but both of those cars look pretty damn stock. I can see how a fire extinguisher might be beneficail to have mounted there for a racecar or a track only car, but is it really worthwild in a daily driver setup?? i doubt it

Wouldn't it actually be a hell of a lot safer if your car caught on fire to just get as far away as possible and call the fire department instead of dicking around with a very small fire extinguisher?

You'd think so, but my parents watched a fire department in Ashland, VA DESTROY a 4th Gen Accord because of a *small* under-hood fire. They cut his hood in half and peeled it like a sardine can instead of using the latch. I think they also fucked up his bumper and fenders.

In his case, a fire extinguisher would have been better than the professionals.

you bring up a valid case, however from an insurance standpoint if the car has pretty much any fire damage, the claim results in a total.

From a saftey standpoint if i noticed any flames from under the hood i would run pretty much as far as i could, for my life and saftey > my cars well being

Honestly it looks dumb placed right there...I could think of a couple other places to mount that in the cabin.

The fact the floormat goes over the extinguisher just further proves my point.

go watch the burning GTI video in Kills forum, then you might understand why you'd want one. plus one on the pillar just gets in the way of the view of your passengers and its on the opposite side of the car if your alone.

the install could be cleaner, but it serves its purpose. i'd probably just cut up the floor mats so it fits around the mounting points.

Fire extinguishers on cars are worthed, I have personally knowned two people that have had their cars totally burned down to the ground due to a small fire. I'm pretty sure they would have loved a dinky fire extinguisher at the time. But in this case the fire extinguisher looks so stupid and misplaced under the floor mat
