how do i find out how much material was taken off the head and block ???
the head was resurfaced and the block was resurfaced but the machinest that did it was a moron and did it with a belt sander. my question is, is there any way i can find out how manny thousandths was taken off the head and the block combined.
i have adjustable cam gears. if i get the car on the dyno can the tuner just adjust them and etc without knowing how much was taken off ?

Well, this isn't how you find out how far you can adjust your gears. You need to measure the pads with a mic and then find out how much material was removed. There are, I believe, three pads on the head and on the block. It will help you to determine how much material was removed and if the surface is straight..
You will still need to clay the engine when its assembled to find out how much clearance youhave and what the "max" adjustment you can make is on the gears. Without claying, your taking a craps shoot.
