Default 6th Gen H22 Swap - I searched

I've searched and found some interesting results. From the look of it, it doesn't seem like it's that much harder than a swap to a 5th Gen.

btw, i got hit today, so my accord is most likely to be totalled. I'm kinda interested in getting a 6th gen coupe and do a swap since I have an H22 laying around with parts to rebuild for FI.

So I have couple questions before jumping on the wrong end of the gun.

I know that 90% sure that the 6th Gen I'll be getting is a V6 (from a friend and cheaper too, unless I can find a shell). Is it any different than swapping the H22 into the V6 then the I4? Has any one done this before? can you give me some feedback.

Also, beside all that outline in this thread:

What else do I need to worry about other than the Driver Side Motor mount, and the OBDII-OBDI conversion.

Thank ya'll.

yes, the 6th gens had a different (larger) nose to accomodate the v6...mounting will be different than that of the 4 cylinder...also, you'll have to go through the whole auto->manual swap unless you wanna keep the auto ( )....i'd personally pick a lighter car to do this swap on...you'll have much more fun with that h22 in doing so....a 4th gen would be fun to use...

they have the same outside as well as inside dimension, only 5th gen got a fatty front for v6.

i don't know why your whoe reason for h22 but i would agree with nick, get a cls motor or tranny from 3.2 will make your life easier than redoing all the wire, since the placement for four cylinder is totally different from v6, just imagine all the wireing you need to do(just about everything under the hood, there's a slight chance you ran into clearance probklem with abs brake line)

6th gen, good choice. Typically I've heard that the wiring is harder on the 6th gen compared to the older gens when installing an h22, that's just what I've heard and that's probably based partially on the fact that there has been more time for people to swap with 5 gens than 6 gens. So there's more experince, if it's a v6 than I'd go with the 3.2 CL Type-S like someone above mentioned, that'll be your best bet. The v6 I think is a little more heavier than the I-4 6 gen coupe, so the weight disadvantage will be even greater if you decided to go with the h22 for the car...good luck man

Thanks y'all for the reply. Seems like there is a misunderstanding. The reason I'd choose another Accord is because I have a FULL H22 swap at home with new sleeves, rods, pistons, cams, valves, etc. And a full race GT35R turbo kit. Everything there is to bulletproof and turbo it. My initial plan was to rebuild that and swap into my 5th Gen. But now it's been totalled. That's why I want to get another accord to put it on. I don't want another 5th Gen since I still have an addition one at home with an H22 swap in it already (my daily driver).

My fiance like the 6th Gen coupe style, that's why I plan to get one. I am looking for a 6th Gen coupe I4 body only, but can't find any. And my friend is selling his 2002 V6 coupe a cheap price (cheaper than the 4cyl ones I can find locally). So my new plan is to buy his car, throw out the motor or sell it whatever, and swap the JDM H22 that I'm having rebuild + converting to H22 LSD manual.

That's why I'm asking to see if anyone actually did an H22 swap into the 6th Gen accord V6 coupe before. I'm suspenting that it has different motor mounts than the normal I4, that's why I need help before actually buy that car from my friend.

Thanks

NVM guys, I found an 99 I4 coupe, local for 6000. 111K, 4cyl, 5spd, no accident, clean interior, etc. It should be fun for a while when the other H22 is build up. Now all i have to do is wait for the insurance company from the guy who hit me to come and estimate my car and for everything else to straighten out. Hopefully things will resolve next week.

Wish me luck.!

ah sux, I didn't get the car, so someone got there before me.

so back to the original question: any tips of swapping the H22 into ath AV6?

Right now, I'll be looking for donor body. So I don't know what I'll end up with.

So any experience people out there?

Thanks.
