can i get some opinions/advice for this bike please?
im thinking about picking up a 96+ Kawasaki ZX7-R..why this bike?..its in my price range compared to 600cc suzuki's or hondas in the same year range..its pleasing to my eye..its comfortable for me to sit on..good aftermarket support..i know its a 750 and id really like a 600 but ill manage...this will be my second bike(first was a 1978 400cc honda cb400t) but my first sport bike..does anyone have any opinions, first hand experience, advice, what to look for on this model when looking at local used motorcycles, any recalls or typical parts that fail?..thanks
dont do it. try to find another (honda, yamaha, suzuki) bike if at all possible. but im deathly against any kawi anyway...
thats just my opinion. but for real it already sounds like you've made up your mind about it.

The ZX7R doesn't have as much grunt as the GSXR750. Lookswise, it is spot-on. Handling is decent, too. After a few mods, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the motorcycle. If it's your first bike, you may want to get a popular 600 because you'll find more parts available.
The ZX7R is easily one of the best bikes ever made. It stayed around so long in the same fashion for a reason. Dont listen to people talk about how bad Kawi is, they just dont get the respect they deserve.
The 7R is a good first sportbike. Not a good first bike, but if you have ridden, have no fear. The bike is one of the best handling out there. Bumps dont faze it, and it is totaly smooth. Also, if you are into stunting, dont get one. They dont like to do stunts because they have a lot of their weight over the front wheel for stability. It was meant to do well on the track, which it did.
