Can anyone help a kid out?
I am currently 15, waiting to turn 16 and be able to drive. Hopefully I will be granted an 88 CRX that is in the family in excellent shape. I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some info on what are decent wheels for around $150(a piece obviously). I want to go to around 15 or 16 from the stock 14's. I have looked at tirerack.com and i found some cool stuff, but what do u recomend for the budgeted. Also, is $300 good for a 4 piece Mugen body kit? My dad found an awesome website with it on. I can't remember it now. I guess with the shipping its around $400, but i have no idea if this is any good. Is this a good kit?
I greatly appreciate any info, and any thing you can tell me is excellent. THANK YOU!!

Personally, I would not do a body kit-but that is up to you. The work involved can take considerable effort and money. Trust me when I say this-our 89 came to us in excellent running condition, but the prep to paint it for competition (no body kit just a roof skin) cost over $2000.
Now to wheels-everyone here has an opinion. I'll give you mine. Take a hard look at the Motegi line, Kosei and Speedy. The last one is available from a local supplier in Latrobe and Pittsburgh-very reasonably priced (Import-Export Tire). If you decide to go with anything and eventually road race the car you will be limited to 15" by SCCA and NASA. Speedy is at http://www.speedywheels.com and Motegi is at their own site too. If by chance you are into show then anything is possible. However, make sure that they fit correctly. Thre is an event coming up at BeaveRun on June 11-come on out and you can see what I'm talking about.

Please don't do a body kit...just keep clean lines. As far as cheap wheels look here http://www.edgeracing.com they are light weight too. I love mine...I have the Flik Fuel Bronze 15" and they are super.

hey i just want to thank everyone for their help. I never thought about how good looking the stock looks were. I am gonna ditch the body kit idea. I can put the money into wheels like some of you guys said, and also into engine. I want a "real" car. Not a car with a big a$$ louder than heck muffler.
A Mugen body kit for $300 you stated to be either a knockoff or stolen. I appreciate the heads up. Just to let you know where i got that price, here is the link. http://www.racerwheel.com
Wait, your dad found you a body kit on the internet??
lol.....
I had only a budget of $100
and my best friend got an 87 si and needed the money
so i took them. Wait around for a good deal, they always come up...
