Roll Cage anyone have one in ther crx with pics?
i was just wondering cuz i was thinking of getting a auto par one but its 550 american plushipping just wondering if anyone has a roll cage and pics of it in there crx?
bolt on cages sucks, and in any incident of a real roll over, the bolt on one ( to my knowledge is a bolt on ) has a higher chance of hurting you than helping you. i recommend you get one custom fabricated welded cage into your car.
btw colin. my friend's crx your showing was sold for 3000 bucks with the motor, 5 lug, dfi, custom gauges, roll cage, kit, and waht not.

i have a friend who can build roll cages. he said that if i pay for the chromally(sp?) piping that he would do it for me. i already gave him the layout and poo poo and he said he could do it; i just hope it dosent cost to much for the piping.
I've got an autopower rollbar in my car... sorry, no pics yet... but it doesn't take up much space, and really stiffened up the chassis.. the only complaint was that the rear legs bolt in right where the speakers mount.... oh well.... hehe..

Also, Autopower has bolt-in cages and weld-in cages. I have a bolt-in cage, but will have the feet welded to the chassis.

cromaly is hard to weld correctly and the material is kinda expensive. i dont know the exact prices on piping it may vary from state to state or country to country but the stuff isnt as cheap as we all wipoo poo would be.

its opinion based, expressed by a few people that i know and also by my own that have built roll cages ( i dont build em ). i could be wrong but we've seen a few mishaps with bolt on roll cages that looked real bad. and if your offended that i used a specific name then sorry.
i just want something thats cheap and functional. basically i want it to safe my *** and the passengers in the case of an accident and stiffen up the chassis. i dont want it to wiegh to much but i still want it to be strong.
any thoughts on this guys?

Well, most people don't run bolt-in cages, that I know. I'm sure everyone tack-welds the cage into place, as to prevent it being completely ripped out. The autopower cage is only bolted to the rear portions (as i'm sure you're area of).
A custom cage is always the best measure. I chose the autopower for price reasons...and I can always weld more supports to the cage (will turn out to the same price as a custom cage) if needed. But, i know there's plenty of ITA races who run just the autopower cage and have been fine.
What you don't want to do is buy a cage for the street, thinking you'll be safe.
