The shorter belt really depends on the motor mount kit placement. Some sit way back some sit way forward. The ones that sit back you need to dent a little, cause the belt can only be so short. One setup with older hasport we had a belt we had to "turn" on and it still needed a dent. A kit like place the sits up front you can get away with a shorter belt.
Ok thanx for info, the mounts i purchased are HCP so not quite sure if they are going to set motor forward or back, anyone have a better pic rather than the one hasport gives since its in black and white?
thanx again

With my HCP mounts I found that I could have gotten by without denting the frame. I cant remember the belt size I use but it was a PITA trying to get it on. With a GSR, stock pulley and shorter belt I would occasionally get the pulley rubbing on the frame even with a dent. That was if I would do some really hard WOT runs/shifts...it would rub when the motor torqued slightly in the engine bay. Now I have a CTR pulley and a belt so short that the alternator is all the way forward. No rubbing whatsoever, hehehe.

Usually it's about 1/2" shorter. You gotta loosen the alt and pull it as close to the bloc as you can...It's a fucken bitch to get on right...but once you do and you tighten up the alt and get the right tension so it won't snap and it doesn't squeel......it's on for good.
the picture on hasport site was black and white, prolly was just my monitor, anyways thanx these pics will do perfectly, being that u have the alternator to use as a guide.....visually
