Default Just another painted valve cover

I know everyone and thier mom has done this, but I just wanted to let people know that there is no need to sandblast or sand the stock finish off your VC. I used this stuff from walmart called Dad's paint and varnish remover, and it ate that stuff off so fast it was scary. I wish I took pics of it working, you just spray off the old stuff, I didnt even have to brush any of it off. Just make sure you wear big *** gloves cause it burns like hell if it gets on you.

Well here it is, I was just going to sell it and buy a type-r cover, but I'm cheap so I did this. I stripped it, then put on 2 coats of high temp gloss black, I used a red paint pen for the letters, then sprayed it with high temp clear coat. It looks shitty in the pics but thats cause my camera sucks, it actually turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

Looks cheap for some reason. I don't like the red letters either. Makes it look like you're trying too hard IMO. But if you like it then

As for the aircraft stripper, I couldnt find it anywhere. Is it expensive? This stuff was $6 and its enough to do about 2 VC's.

Thats the only reason I painted it. At least I didnt paint it red and try to pass it as a type r cover.
