Default b16 tranny on an h22 ?????

Whats so good about this...i hear ppl talking about it all the time...

how does it work and does it bolt directly on to the jdm h22. i'd like to know cause my tranny's finished so if it is i'll put the b16 instead of the h22 tranny.....it's for an eg6 civic.......

Thanks guys...

It provides shorter gears and the ability to use a stronger tranny like a B16.

you forgot to add that you would not have to make a hole in your car and be able to use linkage and not cables.

I always have heard that the gearing is all wrong with a H22A box in a Civic, I have heard that you cross the line in 3rd gear over the quarter?? Hence why the adapted B Series is the Bees Knees as it gives you the shorter gears??

But this is purely word of mouth that I got this info, so feel free to correct me?

EDIT - Just checked the site linked in this thread.. $998?? Is that just to adapt the H series to the B series Transmission? Or is that a full H22A conversion kit, I am unsure as it mentions the rasing of the engine hight to sit flush with the axles so I am assuming it is a full kit..

I am not an online "all-star" either buddy. I just disagree with what you are saying.

Also I don't believe this post was only directed towards people with H22 swaps already. Existing B-series owners retain their entire B-series drive train. No mount kit to buy, no fabrication to the shift linkage, no custom axles… you do the math.

The H series transmission IN STOCK FORM has been plagued with problems. Not to mention the horrible axle angle you have introduced.

There is a lot more involved. Just the aluminum plate is a misconception.

The kit is not complete without a flywheel spacer, intermediate axle adapter, engine mount bracket, and an array custom metric fasteners.

Asking why is cost so much would be putting a price tag on success.
