the retail price for the bike is 1600 according to NADA. I would wave that much cash in his face. yeah he spent a load of cash on the bike with all that new stuff. but why did he do that? he could have sold it for 1600. he's gonna say 'but if you bought the bike before you would have to spend that much to get all this new stuff' tell him oh well the bike is worth 1600. maybe 1800 if its completely mint.
oh and make sure its not a salvage title or has and frame damage.

Alright thanks Joe. Like I said it seemed kidna steap to me. The other problem is I live in Co,lumbus Ohio and the person lives in Georgia. Oh well ill talk to them and see what i can do about the price. It seems the like EX500 is a good bike though. I really hope they lower the price cause I think id like this bike better than the Kawi 250R. Thanks!

Oh one other thing... Does 18000 miles seem high for a 1992 bike? Im not sure how well EX500's stand up over time. Any info? thanks again,

with that mileage its totally up to the maintenance schedule and if it was followed. if it had an older rider, thats good. being that its so far away, it might not be a good buy cause you cant really have a good look at it...keep saving your pennies and look local.
Way steep! Another question to ask yourself. Is that the right bike for you? If you have that kind of money to spend, you could find something nicer and newer with better performance. For a little more, you could move up to much more modern machinery. If you want a sport bike, but fear the power, one of the smaller Kawi's fit the bill. But if you want to be able to grow with the bike and have the patience and fortitude (read stable throttle hand and brain), move into the newer 600 class. There are many to choose from in the Japanese, Italian, and British stables. I have the GSX-R, but damn I love those Ducatis. The new 600 from Ducati falls into similar price catagory as the Japanese 600s. Performance? Well, it is close for the street. All of this assumes that you want one for the street. If you are going to the track, get a 2 stroke 125 or 250, depending on your physical size and weight. If you are a little guy, go with the 125. Great to learn the best techniques to make a bike go fast. I would if I could, but I am a big **** and do not fit them well. My next bike? Hopefully a 2 stroke 250 for the track. At 6'2" and 205 pounds, I will need to slim down to even think about being competitive, but I will be a rookie on the track, anyway. I want to get some seat time at the track in a 2 stroke. Then maybe I will put my 600 on the track. Just my two cents. Hope it helps you.
