CR - B16A2 + .4mm head gasket
does anyone know what/ how to calculate the compression will be if a put a .4mm head gasket in my stock block b16a2? Can i run this with stock head bolts or should I buy apr headstuds.
thanks
thanks
It's recommended that you replace them anyway, so why not step up to the ARP's. The stock ones should work, but it's pointless to buy new stock ones when ARP's are just a few bucks more.

i would not suggest using a .4mm headgasket; where would even get such a piece? That is like .015", i can't see anything being MLS @ that thickness, in fact i would have to be one layer of something i would think!
easy way to compromise your sealing ability...i'd elect to mill some material off of the head, maybe .015-.020 and use a stock 3 layer gasket. Much safer option.

Buddy Club makes the gasket and I was thinking about upgrading to BC 3+ cams or if I get some more cash RM M22s (have usdm ITR cams now) and want to get the most out of any new cams I might get plus a little extra free horsepower for right now. It would only put me at roughly 10.6:1 (according to c-speed calculator) and I run 93 octane. If torqued down properly this shouldn't be a problem right?
