Default Who makes really lightweight stock size wheels for the 5th gen?

I want to replace the stock wheels on my SH with some lightweight wheels, preferably in the 12lb range. Any suggestions on brand/model and where to purchase them?

Do you happen to have a picture of the slipstreams on your lube? The price is right and the weight seems pretty good.

I have Rota Slipstreams on my '01, and they're fine after 40k miles of daily driving.

Otherwise, I would seriously consider some forged 15" centerlines. I saw some five spoke wheels on their webside a while ago for $99 each.

Here's a good list of wheels, http://www.wheelweights.net/

It's what helped me decide to get my 13.5 lb 17" Centerline RPM's, some of the lightest 17" wheels out there.

Theres nothing wrong with rota, as long as you know that they arent forged wheels and you arent getting the best you can get.

I'll also vouch for the slipstreams - great budget wheel. Strong as hell, too - in the winter around here I've bent my 15" steelies before. Just as many potholes in the summer, but my 16" Rota's have no problems.

That said, if you can afford a set of forged Volks or the like, don't hesitate . . . .

The Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 wheel is also a great bang for the buck. The 15x7 or 16x7 fit the 5th gens great with an offset of 45mm. (never any rubbing even if slammed to the ground). They are very light at about 12-13lbs each, and only cost about $120 per wheel. They are also VERY strong, (don't ask how I know).

if your getting a 15" rim, I think the rotos only come in 15x6.5 so the team dynamics pro race 1 is wider (this is a good thing). For the 16's they are both 7" wide.

Here is a good place to get either set:

Do sw388 comes in 17s? i need the size to clear my Spoon calipers and AEM big brakes.
Right now Im running 18s forged Work Emotions for the street, they are 16.7lbs each.

I'm pretty sure SW388's only come in 15 and 16 inch sizes, but Regamaster Evo's (Spoons are flat black versions of this wheel) come in 17.

Yea what he said. You'd be straight with the sw88s in 16s though. Check in the type R forum. Theres a big thread on what wheels and which ones dont fit with spoon caliphers.

I remember an old luder by the name of SUN not sure if you guys still remember the guy. He used to rock spoon claiphers with 16x7 spoon rims. If that gives you an idea.

I remember SUN, back in the old days in PO.com
I need 17s to clear the AEM big rotors, but since Spoon doesn't make them i may have to consider elsewhere for light weight rims.

hmm is the only reason they're homo because no one can tell the difference and you paid 4x the price?

in a perfect world, i'd have 6 sets of 15x8 te37's. but since it's the real world, and there's bills to pay, i'll live with and eventually race on rotas.

bend a rota? **** it, make it a coffee table and buy another one.

bend a spoon? hope it's repairable, drive on it for 3 months while you save up, and sell your sperm to afford a replacement...
