ok so after searching for awhile i couldnt find anybody with the same problems as me.

i have a 97 b18b in my eg and there are a few little problems.

when i drive the car hard for extended periods of time in the hot, my idle will get a little rough....it never stalls but if im at idle and i blip the gas, itll go down to like 200rpm then up...then back down to idle.

Also, in the winter when its cold (damn canada), the first time i start my car in the morning, itll get the ups and downs...but pretty bad....it should steady idle at about 1500 - 2000 rpm but itll bop from ~500 to 1000 rpm for awhile...then when it warms up everything seems to be ok.


anyways if u have any ideas let me know....i dont just wanna start changing random parts and prey that the probs go away.

im installing my turbo kit next week (hopefully) and i want the motor to be in top shape b4 i take out one bolt.

Try cleaning the screens in your IACV with brake cleaner. Sometimes it gets so dirty in there your idle is effected.

 

i have a honda and i work for nissan so i know both hondas and nissans and pretty much all the cars out there starts up with high rpm in the cold weather to warm up the car. when the engine gets up to normal operating temp the rpm will drop.

 

i am aware of the cold high idle.......

its normal if it idles high right off the bat and warms up...but my engine will bop from 500-1000rpm for awhile b4 itll ease into the idle

 

Im going for the iacv too ....usually the problem.
