I called MOB works today at Orange.California for quote. They want $2000 for jdm front installed and painted. I just wan to know if this is a decent price for that conversion. Thanks

do they get you the JDM front? or you getting the JDM front first and then have them paint and install for 2000?

If they provide the JDM front n install for you then that is really good deal.

But if you get your own JDM front and have them install for 2000 that is alot. YOu should try to install it yourself. I remember there a DIY some where for installing the JDM front. Well you can have them paint.

 

Find a front for you Teg on eBay. You'll probably find it for $1,200... as long as you have the front off of the car when you take it to them, they should only charge you $500-$700 to paint (If that) as long as you don't have a unique color scheme. Good luck bud.

BTW: Be careful on eBay where you order the front from, because sometimes they might be overseas and the shipping will cost more than the front itself.

what jennifermike said damn i can get my whole car painted for 2000 front end paint should be 600-800 dollars and you in cali i pay that much in NYC

Yeah... no. that's way too much man. Unless your paint is 20 coats and it's $1,000 per pint. There is no way you should ever pay that much to get your bumper painted. Do you already have the JDM front?

 

You are not gonna find a REAL jdm front end on ebay for $500. A non-hid will go for 1000-1500. HID will cost you 300-500 more. Search arounf the web and you will find a lot of different prices. ICB motorsports and Password JDM both sell full swaps.

Also be carefull of the fiberglass frontends, they are crap!!

 

They will install my jdm front and color match the front end for $2000

find me a jdm front for 500, and ill pay you 1000 cash. not gonna happen amigo, please dont spread false information. i hate that.

as for 2000 for paint and install go back there, and tell them to shove the paint job up their asses. the only difficult parts of the install are re tac welding the new radiator support. anyone with the least amount of welding experience can do this. paint for a front end shouldnt be more then like 800 at very most.

 

my frontend was 2400$ then a shop had to cut and weld in the new radiator support and they put the frontend on without paint and it cost 1000$...everyone thinks its a cheap frontend but its expensive to do....4k invested so far into mine after the CF hood and paint

 

i just smashed my front end im getting a new radiator support welded in with a full front getting painted and it's going to cost me 1000 i figured in cali there are so many shops you would be paying less i guess i was wrong

 

I had my jdm front end installed for around $1200. Paint matched and everything. I didn't deal with the using of the "T" idea. I just had them replace the entire radiator core support. Only problem I ran into was....well....I specifically told these idiots out here in CO which housing on the headlights do what. When I went to pick up the car, I noticed the turn signal was wired into the city lights....which at the time had a hyperwhite bulb that appeared "blueish" when on. I yelled at them, asking if they just wanted to have me pulled over as soon as I left their shop I had to rewire the entire damned thing myself just to get it right Wasn't hard to do. It ended up being lowered down to $1000 anyway because the guy took too damned long ( 3 fukking weeks!!!!! ) to get it all done. So yea...in short....$2000.....man you'd better be installing and painting TWO jdm front ends.....

 

yea that is the quote you should expect from a shop like MOB....since everybody jocks their paintjobs...im sure you could get it done for cheaper...especially since you are only doing the front.

Where are you guys getting your front ends from??? To be honest i thought the front end went for $1500 and that is not installed or anything. Guess I was wrong about that price. ICB has new kits for $3000, but i dont think I have seen a used kit for less than $1500

friend got his at RRR for $800 without the grille, radiator support, and bar

 

So around 1500-1700 is normal for a udes complete front end

 

as far as I have noticed lately.....yes. One can always spend the extra for a "brand new" front end.
