obd1 gsr motor in ek
I recently purchased a jdm 99 GSR motor, complete swap. Well when it arrived at my house, I noticed it wasn’t a compete swap and I paid 2800 for a complete swap. Well the guy said “oh ya I’ll get the rest for you, sorry bout that.” As the motor was sitting in my garage I noticed it was obd 1 from looking at the harness that was on the motor. I called the guy and told him. He got right in to it on telling me how obd1 is better then obd2, I agreed with him. So basically, I don’t think he’s going to be giving me any more help so I’m on my own now.
My question is I have a 98 ex, and I want to throw this motor in it. I’ve looked all over and found out what mounts I need for this swap before I bought the GSR motor, but now im somewhat lost on how im going to continue this swap. I took off the ex harness as I will be using it on the GSR motor. Now, that’s where im lost can some one please guide me? I’ve done couple swaps before and this one is not clicking in my head yet.
From the looks of it I think I have to get an obd2 dizzy and alt, or can i keep this alternator I have on the motor right now?
Help me out guys get me back on the right trail! haha
