b16a wont go into vtec
id appreciate it if you could help me out,
my vtec solenoid was leaking a little oil from the gasket on top. i pulled it off, put the gasket back in after i found it would take a few days to get it from a honda dealer. now the car wont go into vtec. what did i do? everything is exactly the way it was before and everythign was fine then. i thought maybe i got a little piece of gasket in the little channels for the oil but i cleaned it out well. spotless.
it goes into vtec for about the first 3 minutes after i turn the key and drive off, then nothing

Put a wire in the blue connector to complete the connection under the passenger side of the dash. That will make the codes pop up on the dash by watching the check engine light. See what codes you have first and then diagnose the problem from there.

this is not how you do it on a crx. Just pull the carpet back on the passenger side foot wheel and turn the key on to acc. there will be a little red light blinking on your ecu just count the blinks
long blink=10 short blink=1

well it was throwing code 22 of course. i got a new gasket for the solenoid. when i tightened it down, the solenoid broke in half. i snagged a single cam vtec solenoid (top half) for $0. will it work? the gasket surfaces is slightly different.
