Overheating problem..... i cant figure out
I recently swapped a 94 gsr motor in my brothers 91 da....i am using a pr3 and the original obd0 harness........ever since i have finished the swap it overheats........i dont think the cooling fans are coming but if i drive it and turn the heat on full blast it goes back to normal operating temp. ....when i did the swap g2ic said i have to extend the temp switch from the back of the motor to the thermostat housing which i think i did but i ended up with an extra plug that is not plugged in to anything........does anyone know what my prob could be or what color wire the temp switch plug is???
thanks in advance

im gonna try to flush the rad later this week........idk if the water pump is leaking but there is no puddles or anything
im having the same problems. except i flushed it numerous of times, and changed the thermostat. i guess my problem is the fan switch(es)
just hardwired the fan and they work, they also both kick on with a/c on.......replaced the fan switch sensor and still doesnt come on??? it had new fluids from when i did the swap but i didnt flush the rad so idk..........im goin crazy tryin to figure this out
make a manual switch connected to the fans and wire it in ur car, turn them on whenever u want and turn them off whenever u want, my friend had the same problem and he did that.

yea the fan spins i just hardwired a switch and keep it running all the time and it goes to about 3/4's sometimes but seems to work
maybe your extra plug goes to your thermo fan switch... it switches the fan based on temp.. i bet the wiring for your thermo fan switch is not right.. check it.

I have asked for help on the same exact problems forever now. Been dealing with the same exact prob for over a year and a half now.I even went as far as taking out the AC. I've gone through 4 radiators, all of which are still on working condition. I was stupid and just kept upgrading from oem replacements to a Koyo Aluminum. My leakdown test turns up negative, pump and timing belt changed, all hoses, fans, flushed millions of times, but i think it comes down to the type of water i'm mixing my coolant with....or my timing. ****, IDK. I say go as far as checking the timing. Also, check the hoses near the intake mani.

Uh oh, i had a little puddle of coolant around the left side of the bottom of the motor on the ground, it was more to the the resevoir "spelling" area rather then the water pump area, but i din't know you'r water pump could leak...should i get it replace right away then?, would that mean it's about to go?.
