how about:
upload your pic to a server somewhere. we-todd or imagestation are popular if you don't know someone.
right click on the picture, and select properties.
copy the web address (ctl+c) into your computer's clipboard.
start your h-t post.
click the image button. paste your link (ctl+v) between the lead in and lead out, like this
[img ]http://...link...[/img]
