i had a clutch cable problem a few weeks ago. i replaced it with
one from autozone and it still didnt work even if i tightened it
all the way [i know you arent supposed to]
the generic cable was 1/4 of an inch too long. my problem was
that my act clutch was so stiff that it compressed the soft generic
bushing on the clutch cable all the way. some people put a hose
clamp around the bushing or maybe wrap it in wire to prevent
it from compressing too much and giving a "mushy" clutch pedal.
if that doesnt work, do what i did an go order an oem clutch cable
from the dealership. it works perfect with no problems..bushing is
harder on the oem one..hopefully i was able to help somehow.
