MY 95 GSR STOLEN!!!, what car now???
yea.. my car got stolen and insurance gave me about $6,000 to spend. some of the options i've been considering so far are:
nissan 240sx (with the intent of doing an sr20det swap)
mitsubishi eclipse gsx/gst
nissan maxima (low 15sec quarter mile??)
civic with a swap??
i have a chance to try something different....
but should i just get another gsr?
has anyone driven another car they would recommend over a gsr (that i have a chance of getting)
i want something more/less the same speed and the same amount of pleasure to drive.
post your options please and help me out, any advice is appreciated

Heres the deal
I went from a 1997 5spd maxima to a 1991 240sx sr swapped, to a 1990 eclipse GSX. If you want Rear wheel drive tire spinning fun then get the 240, if you want a chill car that has some big ***** get the maxima, if you want a car to work on all day but spank WRX's and most things honda then get the DSM(eclipse GSX). Don't get me wrong i got mad love for the DSM but as a daily driver i can't really reccomend. Right now i have a DA with a B16 its fun but i am gonna boost it because i am starting to miss the DSM i need some boost in my life.

GSX would be a good choice..if u cant find an eclipse gsx try for the awd turbo talon or laser..same car anyway
swap hatch or coupe civic would be sweet too
dont know where u are located and if they have any available supras in ur area but it would be good too

if u want somethin reliable stick to honda, get a gsx or gst if ur gonna baby ur car. 240sx...mmmm.....i seem to like the car with the sr swap, aggressive car with nice handling.
I heard there were some big problems with the 97' Maxima, it's also a heavy and bigger car over the Teg. So, your going from a small sport coupe to a midsize sedan. The 240 were nice during the years they were out, but again I've heard lots of problems with Nissan in general in the early years.
I like the sugguestion of the Supra. I've always loved that car (any year). IMO, I would stick with a Teg. I love them and they have excellent reliability history, granted the one you buy you get it inspected by your mechanic. Either way, stick with Honda, you can't go wrong.

get a clean hatch for around 1500-2000 and swap in a gsr, or type R motor in weith the rest of the money.... and if u have anything left invest in some security..

This is probably the best suggestion yet. Civic VX + Type R engine/tranny = "The Sleeper" not to mention, due to the fact that your car was stolen your rates are now going to be higher. Something to think about...

^ $3000 to swap the turbo in?
I would recommend another Integra or any kind of Honda. If you want a faster 240, think outside the box besides the common SR20 swap. You can go KA-T or even do an RB25DET swap (Rear Wheel Drive Skyline Motor). I don't really have much input on the Maxima. My bother loves the Eclipse GST/GSX, but I told him don't get it just for daily driving. I don't hate on DSMs, but they have so many problems for a Japanese car. Still, stick with an Honda.

id say the 240. Some rear wheel drive action would be nice, but if your looking at an eclipse id say get a gs and just drop a turbo in it. The n/a eclipses have a higher compression ratio. plus for the cost of putting a turbo in, youd be paying around the same price as you would for a gsr/gsx. But thats just what i would do. Good luck
